Decoded Futures
Are you looking to deepen your organizational knowledge of AI, but don’t know where to start? We invite you and a colleague to join the Decoded Futures team of technologists for a 6-session, 9-week learning cohort, customized for nonprofits this winter.
As a social organization dedicated to supporting education and workforce nonprofits in NYC on their technology journeys, Decoded Futures will launch an initial learning cohort of 15-20 nonprofits that want to explore if and how AI could support their work.
Over the course of 9 weeks, you’ll learn foundational AI concepts, connect with peer nonprofit leaders, deepen the integrations of AI utility in your personal workflow, and experiment with organization-wide possibilities for transformative AI implementations.

AI 101 and level setting
What is AI good for? Using common AI tools in your workflow
AI in education and workforce - specific use cases
Ethical oversight - how to prevent common harms
Building your own AI tools
Nonprofit showcase
What You’ll Get:
Six, 2-hour trainings on AI with the Decoded Futures team of social technologists
Familiarization with AI fundamentals, including tools that can directly be applied to your organization’s work
Experimentation with custom solutions tailored to your needs
Access to a peer community of NYC-based education and workforce nonprofits
Access to Decoded Futures’ network of NYC-based technologists across 550+ technology companies in the city
Custom recommendations for how to continue your journey beyond the cohort

We invite each nonprofit to send up to two participants for this program. The cohort is best suited for program staff, MEL staff, and software developers on your team. Executive directors or other leadership members are also invited to participate, so long as they can commit to attend all six sessions.

Absolutely! For this first cohort, though, we are capping the seats at two people per organization.

You can expect to come away with a better understanding of foundational AI concepts, AI-powered optimizations to your personal workflow, and 1-2 prototypes for deeper AI implementations that your organization might benefit from.

This cohort would best support education and workforce development nonprofits who are looking to build AI fluency internally, but don’t know where to start.

In addition to the 6, two-hour sessions, we ask participants to spend 1-2 hours each week moving forward on their AI strategy.

Thanks to the support of the Robin Hood Foundation and Google, this cohort is free for participating organizations to attend.
